Top Company awarded by ColoradoBiz Magazine.

 

Two Environmental Business Journal Achievement Awards recognizing MWH's work for carbon verification of improvements to the Rocky Reach Hydroelectric Facility in the C&E Firms: New Practice Areas category and design and construction management services for the Durham Influent Pump Station, the first LEED certified pump station in the U.S., in the Project Merit: Sustainability and Resource Protection category.

 

MWH Constructors was awarded three safety awards for 2009 by the Colorado Contractors Association, including the Traveling Safety Trophy for Best Overall Safety Performance in the District (70,000 to 175,000 hours category), the Improved Safety Award and the Zero Incidence Rate Award.

 

Australia's Best Companies to Work For 2009 awarded by the Great Places to Work Institute of Australia and Business Review Weekly Magazine.

Italy's 100 Best Employers 2009 awarded by Great Places to Work Institute.

 

AGC Marvin M. Black 2009 Excellence in Partnering Award, Special Recognition for the Design/CM-at-Risk City of Cape Coral Utility Extension Program.

 

AFCEE Design Honor Award, Space Innovation and Development Center, Schriever Air Force Base.

 

Water Project of the Year and Water Reuse Project of the Year awarded at Global Water Intelligence's Global Water Awards for the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System Project in Singapore and the Western Corridor Recycled Water Project, Australia's largest water recycling project.

 

Green Solution Project of the Year awarded by Community Conservancy International for helping to author the management plan for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Work's Sun Valley Watershed Project.

 

AGC/Willis Construction Safety Excellence Award first place awarded by The Associated General Contractors of America to MWH Constructors for being one of the safest contractors in the U.S. in 2009.

 

William H. Feather Safety Award awarded by the National Utility Contractors Association for meritorious safety achievement by MWH Constructors in the over-500,000 construction hours category.

 

Outstanding Project of the Year and Coast, Oceans, Ports and Rivers Institute Award awarded by the Sacramento section of the American Society of Civil Engineers for design and engineering services for the American River Pump Station and River Restoration Project.

 

Merit Award of Excellence from the Association of Consulting Engineers - New Zealand, the Ingenium Award of Excellence and the Resource Management Law Association Best Project awarded to the Water Conservation and Demand Plan developed for the City of Hamilton, New Zealand.

 

Sustainability and Resource Protection Award and New Practice Areas Award from Environmental Business Journal for our work with the City of New Orleans' Green Solutions program and MWH's QuickStart program.

 

2009 Design-Build Excellence Award from the Design-Build Institute of America for the Goleta Water District Corona del Mar Water Treatment Plant upgrade.

 

Zuid Holland-Price award for the "Future adaptive water veins" project concepts for floating buildings.

 

Bronze Hard Hat Award from Colorado Construction Magazine for the Arrival/Departure Air Control Group project at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colo.  MWH was also awarded the Contractor Safety and Occupational Health "Gold" Award from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha District for outstanding safety on this project.

 

Engineering Excellence Awards were awarded by Engineers Australia for the Sydney Water Priority Sewerage Program of the Brooklyn and Danger Island Sewerage Scheme and the Flinder Sewerage project. 

 

London Merit Award for Conservation and the Greatest Contribution to London Award from the Institution of Civil Engineers for the refurbishment of the Hampton Advanced Water Treatment Works, which provides one-third of London's drinking water.

 

Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement Award for projects of more than $5 million was awarded by the Illinois Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers for the City of Evanston Combined Sewer Relief Program.

 

Engineering Excellence Grand Award from the Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers for engineering services and construction management on the Peace River Reservoir 2 project in Tampa, Fla.

 

Sunshine State Safety Recognition Awards from the University of South Florida for the North Cape Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant and the Southwest Water Reclamation Facility upgrade, which was also recognized by the U.S. Occupational and Safety Health Administration's Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program.
